Intro

Kiko Loureiro is a musician and current lead guitarist for the heavy metal band Megadeth. Kiko is an inspiration to me as well as many aspiring guitarists. His advanced techniques and likable personality make it easy for me to call him one of my favorite guitarists. I visited the Kiko Loureiro article on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: inconsistent citations, less quality Personal life topic, and no discussion of his classical guitar work.

Citations

While going through Kiko’s page, there is a strong start in his career topic with citations and embedded links, but it quickly becomes inconsistent. Taking a look at sub-topics Musical style and Personal life, there is a sharp decline in terms of citations. In the Career topic, there are 19 total embedded wiki links and three citations while the next two topics, combined only have four embedded wiki links and three citations. This wiki page could be improved by adding more information that can lead to citations in these two sections.

Lack of Personal Life Info

Next, the personal life topic feels empty when compared to his career sub-topic. While it makes sense that his career would be greater represented, Kiko has a plethora of other personal feats such as his YouTube content.

Classical Guitar Work

Lastly, It was disappointing to see that there was no credit to his classical guitar work. The first sentence in the Career topic states that Kiko began playing the acoustic guitar. It is clear by watching a video of Kiko’s titled “My Very First Guitar!” that his first guitar was a classical guitar. This wiki page could be edited to include this fact as a way to improve this page.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Kiko Loureiro’s Wikipedia page is inconsistent with citations, lower quality personal life topic information, and no information in regards to his classical guitar work. It is clear that Kiko’s page could be improved by adding more citations in the smaller sub-topics, including more information about Kiko’s personal life, and including information about his classical guitar work.

Thank you for visiting my page. I am a student at Everett Community College studying computer science and have been here since 2019. I originally wanted to study information technology but changed my program to computer science. I plan to finish my AA in the next year or so that I can transfer to UW Bothell. My personal hobbies include playing guitar, video games, and listening to music.
