New article name is Holly Conlan
Holly Conlan is a Los Angeles based singer/songwriter and indie pop artist.
Holly Conlan's latest album The Sirens will be released independently on October 22nd. The Sirens is a huge departure for Holly from past releases Bird (ep - 2008) and Fascinator (lp - 2009) as Holly stepped into the role of producer on the new album. As a result Holly has made a more energetic and playful record than ever before, with an affecting alto voice, Holly uses her training in classical composition to write unusual string voicing and surprising rhythms. While adding in a new synth-pop flavor to the upbeat tracks on this record, Holly stays true to her syncopated piano-driven style. The music video for first single ‘Stay and Play’ will be premiered mid October via Ladygunn TV and feature actor David Anders (Vampire Diaries, Once Upon A Time, Heroes, Alias, Necessary Roughness), with the single available via iTunes from August 27th. A fixture of the famed Hotel Cafe music scene, Holly's music has been featured on hit shows like ‘90210’, ‘One Tree Hill’, ‘The Ghost Whisperer’ and ‘Privileged’ as well as films like ‘The Other Woman’ with Natalie Portman. Holly has toured nationally with three-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles and has shared the stage with many notable performers including Laura Jansen, Katy Perry, Colbie Caillat and Butch Walker, among others. Holly was also part of the (2008) Hotel Cafe tour; with Holly’s song ‘You Are Goodbye’ being awarded the coveted ‘iTunes Single of the week’ spot.
