Location
[edit]Lake Meriwether is a man made reservoir located in western central Georgia (U.S. state). The lake is located in the outskirts of the city of Woodbury, GA, is located in Meriwether County, GA and is a short drive from Atlanta, GA. The lake is also known as Cane Creek Structure Number Two Lake.
Nearby scenic locations include Pine Mountain [1], Callaway Gardens [2], and Warm Springs [3], which is the location of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Little White House".
Recreation and Wildlife
[edit]Lake Meriwether is a nice lake. With a good view and wonderful activities, it is a great place to canoe and kayak. A family of beaver lives in the lake, and its friendly residents occasionally show up. Dense forest surrounds the beautiful spot, along with the occasional lake house. Anyone who travels to Lake Meriwether is sure to be captivated by everything this marvelous place has to offer. the lake is shaped almost like a leaf with its three out-stretched fingers. It is hard to find on the map, almost impossible. Meriwether county is not very heavily populated. Deer, Bald eagles, water moccasins, and wild turkey inhabit the water and surrounding pine forest.
