Trevor Zemtseff is an award-winning drummer and musician based in Los Angeles, CA. Born and raised in Evanston, IL, he started playing the drums at age ten, studying with Chicago drum teacher David Moss, and later took on composition, songwriting, arranging, production, and DJ'ing.

Trevor earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies/Performance from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California in 2020. There he received mentorship from jazz and pop greats, including Peter Erskine, Patrice Rushen, Will Kennedy, Roy McCurdy, Russell Ferrante, Aaron Serfaty, and Michael Stever.

Since joining the Los Angeles music scene in 2015, Trevor has been active on stage, in the studio, and has collaborated with numerous artists and composers. Most notably, he has been the live drummer for indie/pop artist Mk.gee. Mk.gee has done two North American tours and one European tour, as well as played festivals such as Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival 2019 (Manchester, TN), Pitchfork Music Festival Paris 2019 (Paris, FR), and Dutch Design Week 2019 (Eindhoven, NL). They have performed alongside popular artists such as Omar Apollo, Wallows, Still Woozy, Men I Trust, Dr. Dog, SureSure, MorMor, Laundry Day, and Henry Hall.

Additionally, Trevor won first place in the 2019 Angel City Jazz Young Artist Competition, a competition for Los Angeles-based performers and composers. He was awarded a cash prize and the opportunity to perform at Los Angeles's Angel City Jazz Festival, as part of the "Jazz at LACMA" series. This festival included performances from modern jazz giants like Aaron Parks, David Binney, Darius Jones, and Jacob Mann among others.

Trevor does not confine himself to any one style of music; his creations fuse jazz, pop, indie, funk, soul, and electronic, ultimately creating a sound that is uniquely his own. He has a heavy emphasis on musicality, groove, technique, chops, dynamics, musical individuality, reading music, and utilizing music from the past to inform you and discover your own musical voice. When it comes to music, he believes in the notion of having one foot in the past and one foot in the future.
