This year our country celebrates a grandiose event in scale. This is the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. Nowadays, there is no family that is not affected by this terrible incident.
As we all know, at 4 a.m. on June 22, 1941 the troops of fascist Germany treacherously invaded the borders of our small homeland. All people were frightened by this news, which sounded from all the radio towers. It was decided, not to retreat for anything, not to give their homeland to the enemy and to defend themselves from the last forces. In this article, I want to highlight the exploits of ordinary Russian people who fought for the sake of our peaceful sky above our heads, despite the lack of food, clothing and ammunition.
The feat of Matrosov Alexander Matveevich deserves special attention. It was this man who helped soldiers from his camp attack the enemy's ambush. On February 27, 1943, he, a nineteen-year-old young man, closed the embrasure of the fascist bunker with his breasts. During the combat mission he did not think about the price of his life, he wanted to help his country, save it from the invaders. His feat is still honored in our days, because war is such a time that it is impossible to erase from memory and simply forget. It lives in us; it is part of our daily life.
The great feat was also performed by the Soviet pilot Grisodubova Valentina Stepanovna. Her future profession was predetermined from childhood, because her father was a pilot. She really liked the work of her dad and subsequently studied at a flight school. During the war years she made two hundred flights, of which one hundred and thirty-two were night. She bombed enemy fortifications from the sky, delivered ammunition to Russian soldiers, and later, at the height of hostilities, headed the Anti-Fascist Committee of Soviet Women. We can see that she tried her best to help the Motherland. Later, for the work done, in 1943, she was awarded the rank of colonel.
To sum up, all Soviet people fought to one degree or another for victory in this bloody war. They were able to prove to everyone that they are capable of a lot, for the sake of their own happiness and the happiness of their native people. Their feat will remain in our memory forever, because this cannot be forgotten.
