Aligater is a Wikipedia user living in the greater Dublin area in Ireland and, as such, has a particular interest in editing and creating articles about Irish government, schooling, politics, products, popular culture, places etc. Aligater is a student of Applied Language and Intercultural studies, specifically in German and Spanish, and has a knowledge of German and Spanish society and popular culture. They are currently working towards attaining a qualification in translation.

Aligater is somewhat of a grammar nazi, and often proofreads Wikipedia pages, as well as editing to make them more easily understood, and believes that all information should be reliably sourced or else deleted. They also disapprove of the misuse of Wikipedia for the purposes of advertising, self-promotion, slander or for "jokes".
