User:Alextheconservative/OUCA elections in the 2023-4 Academic Year
Electoral system
[edit]The method for electing positions is determined by rule 4(5)(g) of the Rules and Standing Orders Of the Oxford University Conservative Association. Each office uses a form of first-past-the-post. For Senior Offices, each voter can cast a maximum of one vote, with the option to re-open nominations. Limited voting is used for all other positions. For Junior Officers, 4 positions are available with voters having 2 votes. For Committee, 6 positions are available, with voters having 3 votes.
Under rule 4(4)(b), all candidates must earn a certain number of activist points, as determined by the President, in order to take office. If this is not met, under rule 4(4)(b)(iii) the candidate's nomination is treated as if it were declared invalid prior to the election, and all remaining votes are added (examples of this can be found in Standing Order 20). Instances where this occurred are noted.
Important note
[edit]The "party" parameter in these templates is used for colleges - unfortunately, no method exists to change it to college. Names are as listed on ballot papers.
