The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) operates a total of 95 bus routes throughout the urbanized area of San Diego and the rest of the southern half of San Diego County, as of June 2018. The city proper and its various suburbs are served by MTS and its bus routes, while the northern portions of San Diego County are served by the North County Transit District (NCTD) and NCTD's BREEZE bus routes.
