Since September 2012 I a full professor in RWTH Aachen, as part of the Aachener Verfahrenstechnik (Process Engineering). Between January 2009 and August 2012 I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My research interests are energy & chemical systems and optimization algorithms. My background is chemical engineering (Dipl-Ing Karlsruhe, Ph.D. MIT).
