Sedgwick Almshouses
The five almshouses are in Pennwood Lane, in Lower Penn, Wolverhampton in the West Midlands Combined Authority.
Doctor Raphael Sedgwick of Penn Hall died in 1747. His will stipulated that his heir Thomas Bradney would build the almshouses within four years of his death. Thomas was a county sheriff and a justice of the peace. He delayed the building until the parishioners of the village took him to court and had him forced to build them in 1761. [1]
