Automotive industry It can be said that the automotive industry constructs a huge range of companies and organizations which are usually associated with the design, manufacturing, development of the product, marketing process and the selling process of the motor vehicles. On this perspective, it can be said that the automobile industry can be identified as the largest industry in all over the world through revenue. It can also be said that it does not indicate the type of industry which are associated with the maintenance procedure of automobiles including the delivery process to the end-user. For example, it can be said that the type of industry like automobile repair shops and motor fuel filling stations. According to Lv (2019, p.1), from this perspective, it can be said that the word automobile comes from the Greek word that is ‘autos’ which means self and the other word which is ‘motives’ comes from Latin which means motion which usually indicates any form of self-power. Supply chain History It can be said that the beginning of the automobile industry can be identified in 1860 with around a hundred of the manufacturers who are the pioneers of the horseless carriages. From this perspective, it can be said that for many years the Uk provide leadership in the whole world for the total number of automobile production. In 1929, it can be identified that the world had around 32,028,500 automobiles for use and among them, 90 per cent was provided by the UK at that time. After 1945, The UK provided 75 percentage auto production in the whole world. In 1980, it can be said that Japan associated with the UK automobile company and this helped to become the leader of the world again in the year of 1994. According to Tadjiev and Donzé (2020, p.323), throughout the production process, this continuation remains until 2009. The industry’s main focus is to meet the needs of the consumers. As for this reason, it focuses on CSR initiatives.

This is a very important factor for the automobile industry. On this perspective, it can be said that the term safety in the automobile industry use for the users, operators or for the manufacturers to provide them safe so that they can avoid the risk factors or the kind of damages that comes from the motor vehicle or from the separate parts of the vehicle (Berkeley 2018, p.475).

It can be said that safety in the automobile company is individually important and therefore highly required. The automobile industry has to maintain a certain number of rules and regulation and it is applicable for both national and international automobile industry of the UK. It usually helps the automobile industry to be accepted in the marketplace. From this perspective, it can be said that the ISO 26262 standard can be identified as one of the significant practice frameworks which usually helps to achieve the functional safety of the automobile industry (Ali et al. 2019, p.1038). The standards should be followed for meeting the needs of the consumers. As for this reason, in the condition of safety the danger, defect of the products or any type of fault at the time of manufacturing of the motor vehicle the maker can apply the request to return so that he can run the entire production. It can be said that the product or the operation test and the experiment in the multiple stages of the value chain are required so that the automobile industry avoids the kind of product recalls and safety complaints which are associated with the automobile industry requirements. On this perspective, it can be said that the automobile industry is highly concerned with the product recalls which is also associated with the economical consequences.

In 2007, it can be said that there were around 807 million cars and the trucks on the road and the consumers can be identified for which 980 billion litres diesel and petrol were required at that time. It can be said that the automobile can be identified as a primary mode which is a required transposition for many economies which has been developed (Ali et al. 2019, p.1038). From this perspective, it can be said that the new generation of people are not interested in buying care instead of that they prefer other modes of transport. This is the reason, in a developed country the automobile industry has slowed. However, there are also exceptions for some of the countries. By considering the CSR activities, the automobile industry contributes to the economy of the country. Consumer perspective Through the consumer perspective, it can be said that many consumers have provided the kind of the same opinion that for the automobile industry in the UK corporate social responsibility is quite important to achieve business targets. The automobile industry should involve corporate social responsibility because it usually helps the industry to achieve the targets in the business market. It can be said that it is a common issue that the consumers believe that most of the time the automobile industry associated with the kind of charity which mainly provides a positive response to the automobile industry in the UK. According to Morganti and Browne (2018, p.94), from this perspective, it can be said that the consumers are loyal and more interested in paying on the automobile industry which is associated with charity or supports any kind of charity.

Therefore, it can be said that marketing local products help the automobile industry to achieve the consumer’s trust for the automobile industry. However, on this perspective, it can be said that not all type of activities of corporate social responsibility is able to attract the consumer’s trust in the automobile industry. Therefore, it is important to focus on corporate social responsibilities which are required and also helps to attract the consumers towards the automobile industry in the UK (Yoo and Lee 2018, p.2956). For this reason, it is highly required that the automobile industry focuses on the activities associated with corporate social responsibility. On this perspective, it can also be said that the kind of social initiatives that the automobile company has taken if it does not classify the goals of the other companies then it can provide a negative impact on the automobile industry. Approaches It can be said that for the consumers of the UK, an industry which is associated with social responsibilities can provide quality products which are safe and also high in quality. On this perspective, it can be said that it also provides security on the employment of the industry. It can also be said that the most common approach which is associated with the corporate social responsibility can be identified as a corporate charity (Azevedo and Barros 2017, p.300). It usually indicates the economical donation and the kind of help to the nonprofit organization or communities. In this perspective, it can be said that this type of donation can be associated with the arts, for education purposes, for housing, for health-related issues and for the kind of social welfare and the other can be commercial or political activities (Ali et al. 2017, p.280). Supply chain It can be said that the supply chain is also an important factor for the automobile industry. On this perspective, it can be said that in the twenty-first-century corporate social responsibility which is associated with the supply chain is able to attract the attention of multiple businesses or for the stakeholders. Therefore, it can be said that the supply chain of the automobile industry can be identified as a process which helps the automobile industry so that the other multiple organizations including multiple suppliers, customers all work associated which helps to provide value to the product and also for the service of the automobile industry in the UK. On this perspective, it can be said that the supply chain is an important factor because if the supply chain is associated with corporate social responsibility then it provides many positive impacts on the reputation of the automobile industry in the UK (Kumar et al.2017, p.817). However, it also helps to lead a huge amount of cost which usually helps to solve the multiple problems of the automobile industry. In addition, it can be said that if both the suppliers and the retailers of an automobile industry associated with corporate social responsibility then it provides an impact on the stakeholders who have lost their trust on the automobile industry.
