Mr. Sergey NURTAYEV

Sergey Nurtayev (каз. Сергей Нұртаев, born 6 November 1974; Almaty) — is a Kazakh politician and diplomat. Early life and career He was born on 6 November, 1974 in Almaty city, Soviet Union. In 1998, he graduated from the Kazakh State University. In 2007, he graduated The Russian Academy of Public service under the President of the Russian Federation, Moscow. Nurtayev began his career in 1998 as an Advisor to the CEO of “Zhetisu” company, Almaty (Kazakhstan).

Diplomatic service In 2002, he has served as a Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Kingdom. In 2002-2004 he served as a Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Aberdeen (Scotland). In 2004-2007 Nurtayev was appointed as a Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St.Petersburg (Russian Federation). In 2007-2009 he served as a Charge d’Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hellenic Republic. In 2009-2015 he became an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hellenic Republic. In 2015-2021 he served as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Italian Republic. In 2017-2021 he became an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Malta, to the Republic of San Marino concurrently. In February 2021 he was appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Sweden.

Personal life He is married to Yekaterina Nurtayeva and has four children. A native speaker of Kazakh, Nurtayev is also fluent in Russian, and English
