Dorothy Nesbitt (25 January 1895 - 16 December 1971) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]Her father was John Robertson Nesbitt (c.1860 - 1947), a marble merchant and manufacturer from Aberdeen.[3]
Her mother was Katherine Haldane Stobie Nobbs (c. 1864 - 1945) from St. Petersburg, Russia. John and Katherine married in Berskshire, England in 1890.
Dorothy Nesbitt was born on 25 January 1895 in Musselburgh.
She married the artist William Miles Johnston (c. 1893 - 5 May 1974) from Mid Calder, Midlothian. They married on 28 March 1971 in Newington, Edinburgh.
