George Murray (24 October 1875 - 5 February 1933) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was William Alex Menty Murray (19 August 1848 - 30 January 1920), a cabinet maker from Portsoy in Banffshire. He later moved to Blairgowrie where he joined the town council.[3]
His mother was Marjory May Grant (born c. 1848) from Boharm in Banffshire. William and Marjory married on 9 December 1874 in Boharm.
George Murray was born in 9 Schoolhendry Street, Portsoy on 24 October 1875.
He married Rose Emily Petty (4 November 1879 - 21 October 1928) from London, England. They married on 19 August 1909 in Kensington, London.

[edit]He died at his home in Girdler's Road, Brook Green, London on 5 February 1933.[4][5]
