James George Murray (16 June 1863 - 10 August 1906) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life

His father was John Burnett Murray (20 October 1829 - 12 May 1907), a carpenter from New Machar, Aberdeenshire.

His mother was Mary Hay (15 March 1833 - 11 August 1894) from Banchory, Aberdeenshire. John and Mary married on 20 June 1861 in Old Machar, Aberdeen.

James George Murray was born on 16 June 1863 at 38 Union Terrace in Old Machar, Aberdeen.[3]

He married Jessie Keith, eldest daughter of James Keith of Aberdeen.[4] James and Jessie married on 15 September 1891 at the East Parish Church in Stirling.[5]

He died on 10 August 1906 at The Rowans in Cambuskenneth, near Stirling.

The value of his estate was £289, 15 shillings and 8 pence.[8]
