James Milne (3 February 1857 - 4 November 1918) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was James Milne [Snr] (born 1 May 1811) of Bogfur in Inverurie.[8]

His mother was Jessie Tait (born c. 1820) of St. Fergus, Aberdeenshire. James and Jessie married on 10 August 1848 in Kintore.

James Milne was born on 3 February 1857 in Port Elphinstone, probably at Pineshaw Cottage where he grew up.[9] He was baptised on 11 March 1857 at Kintore Parish Church.[10]

Death

He died at his home at 70 Beechgrove Terrace in Aberdeen on 4 November 1918.[11] He was buried on 8 November 1918 in Aberdeen.[12]

His death certificate states he died of spinal sclerosis.

The value of his estate was £149, 1 shilling and 6 pence.[13]
