Daisy McGlashan Anderson (29 October 1910 - 1996) was a Scottish painter.[1] She is one of the McGlashan-Anderson artistic dynasty of the Glasgow School of Art.[2]
Life
[edit]Daisy McGlashan Anderson was born in Hexham on 29 October 1910.[3]
Her father was William Smith Anderson (c. 1878 - July 1929); her mother was Daisy Agnes McGlashan (5 June 1879 - 17 August 1968). They had married on 28 September 1909.
Daisy's younger sister Agnes Violet Anderson was born in 1911.
Both sisters were family friends of the artists David Alison and Henry Young Alison.[4] David Alison painted two portraits of Daisy, aged 9,[5] and aged 15.[6] The portraits were held by the Glasgow School of Art but were lost in the fire of May 2014.
