John Kidd Maxton (9 February 1878 - 20 May 1942) was a Scottish painter and engraver.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was John Maxton (15 May 1849 - 24 June 1916), a joiner from Perth.
His mother was Margaret Kidd (born c. 1854) from Kinnoull in Perthshire. They married on 29 March 1875 in Kinnoull.
John Kidd Maxton was born in Perth in 1878.
He married twice. The first marriage was to Eliza Bisset Melrose (born 1880). They married on 1 August 1919 in Edinburgh.
The second marriage was to Jane Baxter Spowart (born 31 July 1898) from Cowdenbeath. They married on 31 July 1925 in Edinburgh.
