John Martin (27 February 1806 - 3 February 1893?) was a Scottish painter and paper maker.[1][2]

His father was John Martin [Snr] (born c. 1767) from Echt in Aberdeenshire.
His mother was Anne Black (born c. 1765) from Peterculter, Aberdeenshire. John [Snr] married Anne on 7 January 1798 in Echt.
John Martin was born on 27 February 1806 in Midmar, Aberdeenshire.[6]
He married Margaret Thomson (c. 1806 - 21 April 1863) from Newhills, Aberdeenshire.[7]
His son Charles C. Martin was also an artist.
