William Douglas Macleod (1 January 1892 - 23 April 1963) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was Norval Macleod (born c. 1852) from Edinburgh, a commercial manager for a chemical works.
His mother was Jane Drummond Maxwell (born 10 March 1861) from Edinburgh. Norval and Jane married in 1883 in Kelvin, Glasgow.
William Douglas Macleod was born on 1 January 1892 in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire.
He married Ellen Averil Pratt (1899 - 16 March 1979) from Milngavie.

[edit]He died on 23 April 1963 in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire.
He was buried in Milton of Buchanan in Stirlingshire.
