John Watson McLea (27 January 1813 - 4 August 1861) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life

His father was Duncan McLea (c.1779 - 3 March 1842).

His mother was Catherine Fraser (born c. 1791).[5] Duncan married Catherine on 15 June 1811 in Rosemarkie, near Fortrose, Rossshire.

John Watson McLea was born in Rosemarkie on 27 January 1813.

He married Helen Napier Hunter (c. 1811 - 18 March 1848) on 11 July 1834 in Canongate, Edinburgh.[6]

He remarried Agnes Ponton on 7 June 1852 in North Leith, Edinburgh.[7]

Death
