Janet McLaurin (24 August 1844 - 16 September 1927) was a Scottish painter.[1]

Life

Her father was Duncan McLaurin [Snr] (born c. 1816), a bank agent from Neilston, Renfrewshire.

Her mother was Ann Wilson (born c. 1809) from Glasgow. Duncan and Ann married on 5 July 1840.

Janet McLaurin was born on 24 August 1844 in Glasgow. She was baptised on 15 September 1844.[6]

She married the artist Robert Macaulay Fisher (3 September 1843 - 19 December 1891) in 1879 in Helensburgh.

Her brother was the artist Duncan McLaurin and her sister was the artist Isabella McLaurin.

Death

She died on 16 September 1927 at Bloomfield, Lomond Street, Helensburgh. The death certificate states she died of carcinoma of neck.
