Duncan Mackinlay (14 May 1844 - 12 December 1932) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was George Mackinlay (born c. 1803), a draper from Garelochhead.

His mother was Mary Cheyne (born c. 1809), from Partick, Glasgow. George and Mary married on 4 August 1835 in Glasgow.

Duncan MacKinlay was born on 14 May 1844 in Glasgow.

He married Lizzie Taylor (17 February 1860 - 1 June 1940) from Batley, West Yorkshire. Duncan and Lizzie married in Dewsbury 1900.

They had a daughter Alice Mary MacKinlay (1 August 1901 - 29 July 1987), born in Great Malvern.

He died on 12 December 1932 in Ilkley, North Yorkshire, England. His usual address was 2 Chantry Drive, Ilkley.

His estate was valued at £799, 8 shillings and 9 pence.[11]
