George Mackie (17 July 1920 - 3 October 2020) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was David Gourlay Mackie (8 September 1884 - 1 March 1972), a saddler.
His mother was Kathleen Lucy Grantham (1899 - 15 August 1920). David and Kathleen married c. April-June 1918 in Ripon, Yorkshire.
George Alexander Mackie was born on 17 July 1920 in Cupar in Fife.[3]
He married the artist Barbara Balmer (23 September 1929 – 31 December 2017).
