Alexander Marshall Mackenzie (1 January 1848 - 4 May 1933) was a Scottish painter and architect.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was Thomas Mackenzie (c. 1814 - 15 October 1854), an architect from St. Martins in Perthshire, near Balbeggie.
His mother was Helen Margaret McInnes (15 September 1821 - 5 October 1894), from Rothes in Moray. Thomas and Helen married on 22 July 1845 in Elgin, Moray.
Alexander Marshall Mackenzie was born on 1 January 1848 at Ladyhill in Elgin. He was baptised on 18 February 1848 in Elgin.[3]
He married Phebe Ann Robertson Cooper (23 January 1853 - 29 August 1936) from Elgin. They married at Dunfermline House, Elgin on 14 September 1876.
His son Alexander George Robertson Mackenzie (12 March 1879 - 20 March 1963) also became an architect and painter.
