Robert Mackechnie (6 July 1894 - ) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was John Maclellan Mackechnie (born 28 April 1856), known as Jack, a writer (solicitor) from Bonhill, Dunbartonshire.
His mother was Christina Sang (30 August 1863 - 24 October 1946), known as Ina, from Edinburgh. Jack and Ina married on 21 June 1890 at 28 Drummond Place, Edinburgh.
Robert George Sang Mackechnie was born on 6 July 1894 in Glasgow.
He married the artist Margaret Helen Barnard (born 8 September 1898) from Bengal in India. They married on 8 January 1924 at St. Anselm, Davies Street in London, England. Margaret studied at the Glasgow School of Art from 1917 to 1923.
Art
[edit]Robert joined the art group, the Seven and Five Society in 1927.
Death
[edit]He died in Battle, East Sussex around October - December 1975.
