John Mackay (21 January 1910 - 3 January 1999) was a Scottish painter.[1]

His father was John Mackay [Snr] (born c. 1867), a grocer from Edinburgh.[2]

His mother was Marion Elizabeth Flett (1866 - 1965) from Edinburgh. John [Snr] and Marion married in Leith in 1892.

John Mackay was born on 21 January 1910 in Edinburgh.

He died on 3 January 1999 in Melrose at the Borders General Hospital. He usually stayed at his cottage in Oxton.
