Walter McAdam (26 May 1866 - 15 November 1935) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was John McAdam (5 August 1806 - 1883), a potter from Glasgow.
His mother was Mary McIntyre (born c. 1829) from Glasgow. John and Mary married on 7 December 1851 in Glasgow.
Walter McAdam was born on 26 May 1866 in Glasgow.
He went on a painting and wilderness trip with his friend and artist John MacNiven in 1894. They went to the shore of Loch Scavaig on Skye overlooking the Isle of Soay. John MacNiven died on the trip.
He married Mary Helen Forrest in 1917 in Hillhead, Glasgow.
