Nan Cathie Briggs (21 February 1876 - 7 July 1952) was a Scottish painter.
Life
[edit]Her father was Francis Briggs (9 April 1845 - 24 May 1928), a timber merchant from Haddington, East Lothian.
Her mother was Esther White Munro (c. 1855 - 1943) from Moffat, Dumfriesshire. Francis and Esther married on 5 November 1873 in Moffat.
Anne Cathie Briggs, known as Nan, was born on 21 February 1876 in Norwood Villa, Trinity, Edinburgh.[1][2]
She married John Christian Livingston (1866 - 1935), a writer to the signet from Edinburgh. They married on 14 April 1897 at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.[3]

[edit]She died on 7 July 1952 in Edinburgh. She died at 3 St. Bernard's Crescent. The funeral was on 9 July at Warriston cemetery.[4]
