George Linen (29 April 1802 - 27 September 1888) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was John Linnen (born 3 February 1754) from Greenlaw in Berwickshire.
His mother was Isabel Dickson (born c. 1763). John and Isabel married on 1 August 1783, after banns were issued on 5 July 1783.
George Linen was born in Greenlaw on 29 April 1802.[3]
He married Sarah Cartwright Davis (25 December 1811 - 12 June 1891) from Shropshire, England. They married on 1 April 1833 in Manchester, England.
The couple moved to the United States in 1834.
Art

[edit]He died in Pequannock, Morris, New Jersey, United States, on 27 September 1888. He was buried in Newark, New Jersey.
