George Andrew Nasmyth Langlands (c.1862 - 17 August 1939) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]As noted on his death certificate, his father was David Nasymth, a Lieutantent Colonel in the Indian Army.
His mother was Agnes Aitchison (13 May 1841 - 4 April 1904) from Edinburgh.
As noted on census, George Andrew Nasmyth was born c. 1862 in Edinburgh.
His stepfather was David Milne Langlands (31 August 1834 - 28 October 1929), a landscape gardener and surveyor from Rescobie in Forfarshire. David Milne Langlands and Agnes married on 24 August 1863 in Melrose.
George Andrew Nasymth used Langlands as his surname.

[edit]He died on 17 August 1939 at 7am at Moray Lodge, Granton Road, Leith, Edinburgh. His usual address was 192 Ferry Road in Leith.[3] He died of myocarditis.
