Thomas Knox (c. 1809 - 13 April 1850) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was the artist John Knox.
His mother was Sarah Scott (c.1782 - 24 May 1853). John and Sarah married on 18 March 1803 at Crosthwaite Church, Keswick, Cumbria, England.
Thomas Knox was born c. 1809. It is very likely that Thomas was born in Glasgow, as his father John Knox was based at 34 Miller Street in Glasgow at that year.[3][4]

Art

[edit]He died on 13 April 1850 from phthisis in London, England in his 41st year.[6] Phthisis is now known as pulmonary tuberculosis. He died at 49 Grove Place, Brompton, Middlesex.[7]
