Dumbarton Art School was an independent art college in Dumbarton, Scotland, providing tertiary education in art and design.

Teaching
[edit]An artist originally from Falmouth in England, Benjamin Strongman (1844 - 13 September 1915) taught in Glasgow School of Art. He took over as Head of Dumbarton Art School.
His daughters were also artists and joined the school. Norah Elsie Strongman (1880 - 3 January 1961) became a pupil-teacher but later became an Assistant Mistress of the school.
When Benjamin retired from teaching at the school, another daughter Amy Lawson Strongman took over as Head of the school.
