Alexander Jamieson (23 September 1873 - 2 May 1937) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was Alexander Lorimer Jamieson (28 June 1844 - 1921), a blacksmith from Riccarton in Ayrshire.
His mother was Elizabeth Reid Millar (c.1846 - 1925) from Mid Calder in West Lothian. Alexander [Snr] and Elizabeth married on 15 April 1864 in Glasgow.
Alexander Jamieson was born in Glasgow on 23 September 1873.
He married the artist Gertrude Macdonald (c. 1872 - 1952) on 26 January 1907 in Brompton, London. Her father was Colin John Mackenzie Cameron Macdonald (27 July 1832 - 1 August 1887), a merchant from Inverness.

[edit]He died on 2 May 1937 at St. Mary's hospital in Paddington, London, England. His home was at Burnside, Church Walk, Weston Turville, in Buckinghamshire, England.
His estate was valued at £2723, 4 shillings and 1 penny.[4]
