George Jackson Hutchison (4 August 1895 - 28 June 1918) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was the artist Robert Gemmell Hutchison (1 July 1855 - 23 August 1936), from Edinburgh.
His mother was Janet Boe (15 September 1857 - 16 May 1942) from Edinburgh. Robert and Janet married in Edinburgh in 1879.
George Jackson Hutchison was born 4 August 1895 in Edinburgh.
Art

[edit]During the First World War he served with the 2nd Battalion of the King's Own Scottish Borderers.
He was killed in action on 28 June 1918 at Merville near Lille in France, near the end of the First World War.
He was buried at the Tannay British Cemetery in Thiennes, France.[3] An inscription for him was made to the grave of his parents at Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh.[4]
