Walter Hutcheson (c. 1838 - 24 August 1910) was a Scottish painter and wood engraver.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was Walter Hutcheson [Snr] (born c. 1796), a calico printer from Glasgow.
His mother was Mary Wilson (born c. 1810) from Edinburgh.
Walter Hutcheson was born c. 1838 in Renton.[3] 42 Albert Road, Crosshill, Glasgow 1893 cessio bonorum - surrender of goods[4]
He married Jane Munro (born c. 1853) from Duntocher. They married in Cathcart in 1875.
His granddaughter Constance Mary Hutcheson was otherwise known as the television moralist Mary Whitehouse.[5]

[edit]He died at 54 Albert Road, Cathcart, Glasgow on 24 August 1910 at 9:55am. the cause of death was recorded as senile decay and cardiac disease.
