John Adam Houston (26 December 1812 - 2 December 1884) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His mother was Ann (c. 1786) from Ireland.
John Adam Houston was born in Gwydir Castle in Wales on 26 December 1812.[5]
He married Caroline Amelia Maclean (born 6 June 1821) from Edinburgh. They married on 20 June 1850 at 4 Queensferry Street, Edinburgh. It was a double wedding there that day as her sister Mary Murray Maclean was married there to a William Cunningham.[6]
John and Caroline had a son John George Lloyd Houston.

[edit]He died on 2 December 1884 in Middlesex, London, England. His estate was worth £6,165, 8 shillings and 7 pence.[7]
