James Hamilton (7 August 1853 - 27 December 1894) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was John Hamilton (29 June 1821 - 25 November 1898) from Kilsyth; he had various jobs, among them a cotton weaver, a coal salesman, a clerk and a plate layer.
His mother was Esther Lambley Logan (14 October 1827 - 16 September 1916) from Kilsyth. John and Esther married on 8 March 1850 in Kilsyth.
James Hamilton was born on 7 August 1853 in Kilsyth.
