James Joshua Guthrie (11 April 1874 - 25 October 1952) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was Joshua Buchanan Guthrie (c. 1839 - 1 October 1903), an iron merchant and agent from Carluke.
His mother was Mary Cree Jackson (c. 1840 - 22 September 1921) from Glasgow. Joshua and Mary married on 11 July 1861 at 66 South Portland Street, Tradeston, Glasgow.
James Joshua Guthrie was born on 11 April 1874 in Tradeston, Glasgow.[3]
He married Marion Stewart Craig (born 20 June 1873) in 1900 at Billiericay in Essex, England.
