James Brown Gibson (26 November 1880 - 21 March 1962) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was James Hall Gibson (c. 1841 - 15 February 1917), a bookseller and stationer from Paisley.
His mother was Margaret Brown (19 November 1845 - 1931) from Greenock. James and Margaret married on 31 October 1878 in Gourock. Margaret was James' second wife, his first wife Mary Simm died young.
James Brown Gibson was born on 26 November 1880 at 8 Milton Terrace, Langside, Glasgow.
