Alastair Flattely (20 November 1922 - 29 May 2009) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]Alastair Frederick Flattely was born on 20 November 1922 in Inverness.
Art
[edit]He studied at the Edinburgh College of Art in 1945.[2]
He was a former Principal of Gray's School of Art.[3]
Death
[edit]Flattely and his wife died in a car accident near Evershot in Dorset on 29 May 2009. Their car collided with a lorry at Holywell Cross on the A37. The driver of the lorry Peter Girton received a suspended prison sentence after being charged with death by careless driving.[4][5]
