John Ednie (6 January 1876 - 18 June 1934) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was George Ednie (27 February 1847 - 3 August 1906) from Abbotshall in Fife.
His mother was Jane Amelia Campbell (c. 1849 - 7 February 1919) from Ireland. George and Jane married on 17 July 1873 in Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland.
John Ednie was born on 6 January 1876 in Gourlay Street in Glasgow.[3]
He married the artist Lily Rebecca Epton (c. 1880 - 22 October 1946). They married on 15 June 1903 in Edinburgh.

[edit]He died from an 'strange animal' bite in Maadi, Cairo Egypt, on 18 June 1934, after a long illness.[4]
