John Dun (22 May 1839 - 27 March 1912) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was Andrew Dun.
His mother was Margaret Kinninmont. Andrew and Margaret married on 19 April 1827 in Edinburgh.
John Dun was born on 22 May 1839 in St. Cuthberts parish, Edinburgh.
He married Maggie Arthur (c. 1854 - 2 August 1939) from Barr, near Girvan, in Ayrshire. John and Maggie married in Ayr in 1876.

[edit]He died 27 March 1912 in Edinburgh. His usual address was 36 Cluny Gardens in Edinburgh. He is buried in Morningside Cemetery, Edinburgh. [5]
His estate was valued at £5654, 2 shillings and 5 pence.
