William Scott Douglas (10 January 1815 - 23 June 1883) was a Scottish painter and engraver.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was Alexander Douglas.[2]
His mother was Isabella Scott. Alexander and Isabella married on 15 September 1807.[3]
William Scott Douglas was born in Hawick on 10 January 1815.[4]
He married Isabella Forbes (born c. 1841), from Edinburgh, on 5 June 1862.[5]
Art

[edit]He died in 1883. He was found drowned off of the east pier in Leith on 23 June 1883.[6]
He was buried in 27 June 1883 in the Calton Burying Grounds.
Works
[edit]He wrote a 'Picture of the county of Ayr' in 1874.[7]
He edited a library edition of Robert Burns in 1887-9.[8]
