John Douglas (12 December 1864 - 28 August 1936) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was Alexander Douglas (7 September 1826 - 2 June 1883), a tweed manufacturer from Penninghame in Wigtownshire.[2]
His mother was Mary Milroy (11 June 1834 - 28 April 1895), from Stoneykirk in Wigtownshire. Alexander and Mary married on 7 October 1858 in Stoneykirk.
John Douglas was born on 12 December 1864 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.
He married Miss Thomson, also an artist.
