Alexander Davidson (17 November 1846 - 26 April 1887) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was Martin Davidson (born c. 1823), a cabinet maker from Glasgow.
His mother was Agnes Turner (born c. 1825) from Montreal, Canada. Martin and Agnes married on 30 December 1845 in the Gorbals, Glasgow.
Alexander Davidson was born in Dennistoun, Glasgow on 17 November 1846. He was baptised on 27 December 1846 in the United Secession church at Eglinton Street, Glasgow.

[edit]He died on 26 April 1887 at his home in 93 Annfield Street, Dennistoun, Glasgow.
The funeral was on 29 April 1887 and he was buried in Glasgow's southern necropolis.
