Robert Stewart Clouston (10 April 1857 - 26 April 1911) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was the Rev. Charles C. Clouston, the minister of Sandwick in the Orkney Islands. Rev. Charles Clouston's father was the Rev. William Clouston of Stromness.
His mother was Margaret Clouston (25 December 1818 - 29 October 1894), the daughter of Edward Clouston and Anne Rose Stewart. Charles and Margaret married at Kirkwall on 25 May 1837.
Robert Stewart Clouston was born in Sandwick, Orkney on 10 April 1857, the youngest of their family.[2]

[edit]He died on 26 April 1911 in Chatswood, a suburb of Sydney, Australia. His usual address was at Lavender Street, St Leonards, another suburb of Sydney.
He is buried in Gore Hill cemetery in St. Leonards.[5]
