William Alexander Burns (31 May 1921 - 14 October 1972) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was James Burns, an inland revenue clerk.
His mother was Marion McLean. James and Marion married on 31 December 1920 in Newton Mearns.
William Alexander Burns was born on 31 May 1931 in Newton Mearns in Renfrewshire.
Art

[edit]He died on 14 October 1972 when his plane crashed in the North Sea between Newtonhill and Portlethen.[2]
His body washed up on the shore of Black Dog Beach on 22 November 1972.[3]
