John Crawford Brown (c. 1805 - 8 May 1867) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]His father was John Brown, a grain merchant.
His mother was Elizabeth Crawford.[2]
John Crawford Brown was born c. 1805 in Glasgow.
He married Margaret Strang (born c. 1812). They married on 17 March 1828 in the Gorbals, Glasgow.
Their son John Francis Brown (14 March 1845 - 25 November 1928) was born in Heriot Manse, Edinburgh.

[edit]He died on 8 May 1867 at 10 St. Vincent Street in Edinburgh.[5] The death certificate stated he died of peritonitis. He is buried in Warriston cemetery in the city.[6]
