Marie de Banzie (15 September 1918 - 15 December 1989) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]Her father was Arthur Chadwick de Banzie (1889 - 2 May 1964) from Glasgow.
Her mother was Edith Jenny Taylor (29 November 1888 - 1978) from Glasgow. Arthur and Edith married in 1916 in Glasgow.
Marie de Banzie was born on 15 September 1918 in Glasgow.
Marie married Herbert Marston (25 September 1922 - 13 May 1975) from New York. They married on 25 September 1947 in New York.
She then moved to the United States.
Art
[edit]She studied at the Glasgow School of Art and then studied at Hospitalfield House in Arbroath.[2]
She was part of the New Scottish Group.[3]
Death
[edit]She died on 15 December 1989 in Rutland, Vermont.
